Our child sponsorship and education programmes work hand in hand. It provides children with all the necessary resources and tools to live a better life and receive a good education. When you sponsor a child, you offer them a chance at pursuing good education, eating nutritious food, and having access to quality healthcare and a better lifestyle. The children that we enrol in the programme are often orphans, children of widows, or young girls who have been victims of rape, abuse and often genital mutilation. While every child’s path is distinct and unique in nature, our local teams make sure that they receive the most out of this sponsorship programme.
When you commit to continuous child sponsorship, we usually select children who live with their widowed mothers or in one of our orphanages. Your monthly donations not only help a child achieve their full potential, but also support their families in living a better life. We also encourage small, one-off donations to help our orphanages support more vulnerable children.

Our child sponsorship programme works with various orphanages and rescue centres in Pakistan, Kenya, Bangladesh, India and some of the most impoverished communities around the world. We also work in war and disaster struck areas to help children affected by conflict. Our local teams keep enrolling needy children into our programme, where they meet potential sponsors. Most of these children are orphans, children of widows, or young girls who have faced abuse and exploitation. For these children, sponsors are like their guardian angels showing them light and hope for a better future.
How Child Sponsorship Works
When you sponsor a child with United Muslims, you are immediately connected with a deserving child waiting for sponsorship. Once your sponsorship begins, a welcome kit is sent to you promptly. This kit includes all the details of your sponsored child, their life, current circumstances and their surroundings. We aim to connect a child with their sponsor and send out the welcome kit within 4 to 7 working days.
We strive to build a deep relationship between sponsors and the children through regular communication. If you wish, you can send them messages, photos and sometimes gifts to truly become a part of their journey. You also receive a bi-annual report on the progress of the child you have sponsored and how they are doing in school. Each sponsored child is a beacon of hope for their community as they pursue education, learn social skills and focus on the future with full belly and healthy mind.

Can I choose the child I want to sponsor?
Yes, in most cases you can select a child. Or, if you prefer, we can choose the child most in need on your behalf. To request a list of children waiting for sponsors, please write to our team at support@united-muslims.org.
How long does sponsorship last?
Sponsorship usually continues until the child finishes education or becomes self-sufficient. We recommend sponsoring a child up to the age of 18.
Will I receive updates about the child?
Yes. Sponsors receive regular updates, photos, and reports so you can see the difference you are making.
