Lillah - Selfless Giving in Islam

Lillah, in its essence, is a charity given purely for the love of Allah. It is deeply encouraged in Islam and is very dear to Allah. When a person gives without expecting anything in return, Allah multiplies the reward many times over. Unlike Zakat, Fidya, or Kaffarah, which are obligatory and circumstantial, Lillah is an act of complete selflessness. Charity given for the sake of Allah brings endless blessings in this life and the Hereafter. May Allah accept our good deeds.

Lillah – It is simply for Allah

Lillah is not a modern name for charity; it holds deep significance in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasised the importance of giving in secret and seeking only Allah’s pleasure. These contributions reflect our faith, sincerity, love for Allah and his beautiful creation. The act of continuous charity benefits the giver even after their lifetime. We consider Lillah as an investment in the collective future of the Muslim Ummah and a way of earning lasting spiritual rewards.

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies His reward for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing and Knowing.

– Qur’an (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261)

United Muslims Appeals - In Need of Your Voluntary Islamic Charity

Support Our Clean Water Appeal

Lillah donations are utilised in a variety of ways, primarily focusing on projects and initiatives that have long-term benefits and are sustainable in nature. With your Lillah donations, we can expand our Clean Water programme and reach more communities in need.

In Gaza, Pakistan, and other regions struck by war or natural disasters, your Lillah provides a direct lifeline to children, women, and the elderly. Donate whatever you can to send help in the form of food, clean water, medical aid, and temporary shelters.

Your voluntary donations help us keep our kitchens running. Lillah donations feed everyone; from people living under poverty and unfavorable circumstances to people present at our seminars, tech training, and even travellers. When you feed people for the love of Allah, your life is filled with barakah.

Help us build new schools and rescue centres, and renovate the existing ones in areas that have fewer to no resources at all. Our makeshift schools, rescue centres and madrassas need your generosity to keep running. Your Lillah donations enable us to provide quality education to underprivileged children, equipping them with knowledge and skills for a better future.

We are on a mission to empower Muslim youth with the tools and skills they need to excel in the digital world. Your Lillah contributions are vital in building a competitive generation of young Muslims who are strong in faith and prepared for the modern world. Invest in our youth-focused Tech Solutions programme and create a change that will transform many lives.

Donate any amount, big or small, to help those suffering from poverty, sickness, hardship, and mental health struggles. The Mindful Ummah Helpline provides faith-based, judgement-free, and confidential emotional support for those in need.
