Infants grow up free from disease, and mothers can spend more time caring for their homes and children. Livelihoods improve, the cycle of poverty is broken – and it all begins with access to clean water.
Our efforts in the clean water project go beyond the installation of wells, hand pumps, and tankers. We also focus on educating communities about the importance of consuming clean water and practicing better sanitation. Women and children are at the centre of our attention. Why Donate to Water Aid Appeal
Communities need clean water to thrive and live healthy, fulfilling lives. Often, people with easy access to clean water do not realise how scarce this life-giving natural resource is. Without water, survival is impossible. Nearly 2 billion people around the world lack access to this fundamental human need: clean drinking water. They are forced to drink and use contaminated water, which is one of the leading causes of water-borne diseases and deaths.

Our clean water appeal is Zakat and Sadaqah applicable. As the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “The best charity is a gift of water.” We take our commitments seriously and value your trust immensely. Therefore, we uphold full transparency and accountability. Our donors can contribute to one of our water projects and dedicate it to their loved ones as a Sadaqah Jariyah. We share reports and photos so you can see how your generosity is transforming lives in real-time. You can also commit to a monthly donation to support our sustainable clean water projects, or make a one- off donation to provide clean water to people affected by war, conflicts and natural disasters.
Sa’d ibn ‘Ubadah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is best?” The Prophet said, “A drink of water.”

How can you donate to our clean water appeal
Donate a Water Hand Pump
Water handpumps can be sponsored for £220. These hand pumps can provide clean water for up to 40 families and support their daily needs like drinking, cleaning and farming.
Donate a Clean Water Well
A donation of £550 can help set up a manual water well that serves up to 60 families each. These wells are a lifeline for communities who do not have access to electricity, clean water and other necessities. 
Sponsor an Electric Well
You can sponsor an installation of electric water wells for £250 and help 600 individuals get access to clean water every day. The electric water wells are best suited for rural schools, hospitals and mosques.
Donate a Solar-Powered Water Well
Our solar-powered water wells serve almost 2,000 village residents and can be set up for £2,800. Located inside the village, these wells spare its residents from taking long treks and help children get back to school.
Donate a Water Purification Plant
The water purification plant produces 1000 litres of clean water every hour and keeps communities safe from water-borne diseases. Each plant can be donated for £5,000.

Will I receive updates about the well I donated?
Yes. Donors receive updates, and in many cases, plaques or reports showing where their well was built. If you wish to donate in someone’s name, fill out the details in our donation form, and we will share the timeline and photos when a water well has been built.

Yes. Any amount helps. Small donations are combined with others to build wells and water systems.
